I have S.A.D, and one of my doctors told me to get a light that simulates sunlight and sit by it for a couple hours a day before noon.
Don't spend a lot of money on a special light box, just stay in well lit areas and also consider buying some "summer" scents for yourself and your home, like coconut and lemon. You'd be surprised how much it can help.
You may well know this already but you can buy special light boxes that work for some people by mimicking natural daylight.Googling it comes up with a load of suppliers.
I live in a place that has winter 1/4 of the year and I get cabin fever real bad and I need sunshine to keep me from getting down. I have to go outside in freezing temp. to feel better!
It has to do with the amount of sun you get a well as daylight savings time fucking with yur bio clock. Very normal. Get some vitamin d in yur system (I think it's vitamin d that comes from the sun) and try to get a lot of sleep. It'll pass, just in time to spring forward and get all fucked up again
Winter does suck bc it's always so damn cold. Find a a way to enjoy winter tho. Do winter activities like skiing or snowboarding. Or get a membership to lifetime fitness. So many things you can do at that place. Movies, the mall, finding a hobby to keep busy, all good things. Find something to take your mind off the negative things. If you live in Michigan- come hang with me. I'll show you how to have a good time during the winter. Good luck. Are you a girl? guy? How old? where do u live? Hope all works out. Don't get down. Find a hobby tho that's best
