Is it normal that I can't roll my Rs when speaking Spanish?

    I was actually talking to a hispanic friend about this the other day, and i think its very normal. Alot of people when brought up speaking the english language find it difficult to replicate the sounds of other languages, i think its because we weren't brought up to use the 'RRR' sound in everyday language from childhood. Or maybe it's just like rolling your tongue? or whistling? Some people can some people can't.

  • I can't roll my r's and I'm hispanic, I really wished I could especially becouse I play flute and in some music u have to roll ur toung...I can roll my r's when I say target and I accent the R :)
