Is it normal rationality is viewed as insane and heartless?

Rationality is logical thought. Logic thought through the ages has been frowned upon and misunderstood. While some would view this as crazy one of the synonyms for this is sane. So are overly intelligent/rational people just a lot more sane then regular people? That by definition would say that ordinary people are insane. So rationality is viewed as insane for it is sane in a world of man men. Irrational people follow greed, lust and nothing that you find in your head. These people will punish, ridicule, and humiliate those of us who have rational thought in our head. By definition though anyone following rational thought is more mentally well.

Rational people are not always intelligent.

Jeffrey Dahmer had an IQ of 145 (really fucking smart) but some just might say that having sex with peoples intestines is a little bit irrational.

Your post is stupid, you are stupid.

I think almost everyone is a rational actor. The only people who aren't are people who have disorders that stop them from being (and even then that's not all people with disorders. Someone with antisocial personality disorder acts in a way that is logical to them based on their experiences and biology. The only people who don't act rationally are people with perception disorders, and even then you could argue they act rationally too). People can only base their rational actions on their own personal observations, so they might look insane to someone who has different observations.

It's like the story about the blind men and the elephant. There are five blind men all feeling different parts of an elephant, believing they are feeling the whole of an object. They all think the elephant is something different, like a tree trunk or a palm tree. Concluding that is rational for each one of them because what they can observe of the elephant is a limited part. With only a limited part they can never know the truth about what they are touching, only make guesses that might be right or might be wrong.

For example, religion is rational and logical for the people who believe in it whereas atheism is rational and logical for me. It's my different experience of the world to a religious person that means both of us can have different beliefs but both still be rational. Of course, just because two believes are rational doesn't mean they are both right; atheists and theists can't both be correct. I believe that I am "right" in my atheism because I believe I have a more complete view of the world than someone who believes in a creator, but what if I don't have a more complete view? Then I'll have to accept that I'm wrong.

People who persecute people who use logic aren't actually doing that, because if they did they'd have to persecute almost everyone on the planet. No, what they're doing is just persecuting people who have different (rationally concluded) opinions to themselves, which is a totally different thing. If they believe those other people are irrational, that's because they didn't read the story about the blind men and the elephant closely enough :P

Emotions, man. They cloud logic. That's all I know.
