I'm definitely not Russian. I'm actually French and Swedish.
I do have very pale skin, blue eyes, and darkish wavy hair. I'm also tall. But I don't see how people automatically assume that I'm Russian.
Do you just walk up to people and assume you know their ethnicity by their looks?
Me too!! Strangely enough it's usually said to me when I'm in a really big hurry. they'll say "you're Russian aren't you"? I'm like wtf, I don't have time for this!!
Bahaha, I keep getting asked if I'm from Russia too! And I'm French and Swedish, just like you xD must be something about the combination that ends up giving one Slavic-esque features. :P
I actually can predict ethnicity from people's looks. Not always, but I'm better at it than most people seem to be. I was introduced to someone and before she opened her mouth, I thought, "She's Finnish". And she was.
I'm not Russian either and I get asked this a lot. I'm actually German-American, so why do people think I'm Russian, I always get confused. When I ask why they think so they usually just say, "I don't know, you just look Russian."😂 it's so confusing sometimes. I'm usually asked this by boys, is that a bad thing?😂
I've had people ask me if I'm Russian too, but they're always Indian. It's happened twice.
No one knows what race I am because I'm a light skinned black person. I've been mistaken for Mexican before, cuban, even white. The most common is Philipino. I don't know why, but most people think I'm oriental or mixed.
