I'm 19 and I don't want kids (Biological or adopted). I want to be childfree in my life and I want to devote my life to other things such as my family and dogs. Am I selfish because of this?

Nope, it's your body and you can do whatever you want with it. It is not selfish to not want children, if you want to focus on other things that's fine. There are plenty of other people populating the earth anyways.

It would be selfish, however, if you do not tell someone you have recently become partners with, as they may want children at some point and wasted time building a relationship with someone that doesn't want kids when they do.

HAving children is one of the most selfish things a humanoid can do, they merely want to spawn something that looks like them, or they want to fulfill their empty social voids, brainwashed by the term "happiness" based on having a litter of critters/marriage..etc

On the contrary, it is having children that is selfish. They don't choose to be born, then will be locked up for 12 years against their will with same aged peers they didn't choose into a prison-like building where they might be subjected to bullying and torment just so they can learn to become 9-5 slaves to be locked up into another building with people they didn't choose until they retire, and if they mention the desire to escape this absurd hell they will be told that suicide is selfish and "things will get better" when clearly they never do. Thanks, but no thanks. Leave the unborn alone please.
