Is it normal or is my roommate taking advantage of me?

Almost 2 months ago my roommate's drivers license was suspended and he hasn't worked since. I haven't seen any money from him in over a month. I understand he doesn't have a job, and he's trying (not hard enough in my opinion) to get a job, but I'm seriously struggling to pay the bills by myself.
I love how my landlord is up my ass about rent, but she says nothing to him because he gets weed for her sometimes.

I work 3rd shift so it drives me crazy to come home after working a 9 hour shift, and see him sleeping until noon everyday.
Also I didn't care about it when he was paying rent and I don't have any problems with her personally, but lately it's been really annoying that he has his girlfriend stay over almost EVERY night. I feel like with the amount of time she spends here she should be pitching in for rent since he isn't.

He's my friend and I don't want to be an asshole but I'm getting really tired of this situation...

Kick his lazy ass out 58
Let him stay you're being a good friend 5

Lay down the law and if he doesn't shape up, kick his ass to the curb.

Make one of them come up with money or kick him out. He's taking advantage of your friendship by not paying anything plus having the nerve to have his girlfriend living there basically.
Can I move in there for free too?

Depends fool. Put your foot down, and say right, im going to "personally" help you get a job, so you can pull your weight around here! However, if its a really close bud. Dont do it, you will be a nob. I gave my friend a lift to college everyday for 1 year straight, no charge, but his mum got me some beers for xmas as a thankyou. We are like Starsky and Hutch, he would do the same for me without a second though, hell, we would even die for each other! However. If its just more or less some person you have lived with for like 8 months and you think they are ok, well if someone asks you "what do you think of john? Your roommate?" And you say hes ok. Throw the loser out, or give him 1 more chance and say "sorry, but its too hard to keep you here with me unless you shift your own weight around.
