Is it normal not to worry about tornado warnings

So recently I was chatting with my friends about that everyone is afraid of the rain. If it rains people cancel everything and go inside the house to worry for their life. When there is a tornado warning its even worse school is cancel, work is canceled, stores close, and no one wants to hang out or do anything. However when there is a tornado warning nothing fucking happens it might flood about 10 inches. If that happens my friends are still fearing for their lifes. I also just went to my hometown to watch my younger sisters play, but it was cancelled because it was supposed to rain that day. Needless to say it didn't even rain that day and I missed my sisters play and I couldn't go anywhere because people were still afraid of the rain. Please tell me im not the only one who thinks like this.

So if you're caught in a tornado or flood you don't expect to be rescued?

I live in one of the highest bushfire danger areas in the world and am continually amazed by locals who have no plans on what they'll do if a bushfire approaches. Denial never saved anyone's life in a dangerous situation and endangers other people trying to rescue them.

You remind me of those retarded morons who say, "I WANT the hurricane to hit here. I WANT to experience it". Or the couple of dozen or so folks who, against all recommendations and evacuation orders, go to a 'hurricane party' at a seaside bar. Not one is ever seen again.
Rain, not so much of a worry IMO, but anyone who isn't terrified of an EF-2 or stronger tornado or a cat 3 cyclonic storm is just an simple minded fucking imbecile.
