Is it normal not to wear a swimsuit when canoeing?

My friend and I are trying to convince my other friend to go canoeing with us, and the only thing thats stopping her is that she lost her swimsuit and she doesn't feel like buying a new one just so she could go canoeing..since she doesn't swim that often. Even if there is a chance of falling in, you could just bring an extra change of clothes right?! Do you wear a swimsuit when canoeing? is it normal not to? What do you think?

I have been canoeing and I did not wear a bathing suit. I wore normal clothes. Others canoeing that day were also wearing clothes. So I think that she is just making excuses not to go.

Are you canoeing down rapids? Sheesh! Just bring spare clothes. I never wear a suit and I've never fallen in. But a little bit of water still sloshes in so I always have a change of clothes.

She is either afraid of the water or does not feel comfortable with her body. Give her a break!

Falling in and getting all wet is half the fun. Sounds like she just doesn't want to go. We usually end up having water fights or stopping and going swimming. I always wear my regular clothes and I never end up dry.

Sounds to me like she was making excuses to not go, unless she had (has) a smokin hot body she wants to show off.

Jesus, why don't you go complain on an advice forum?
