Is it normal not to want to work at mcd or bk

I'm 17 and don't really like being around alot of people.
But I need to get a job but I don't want to work in retail..
I would much prefer to work in a factory, but I can't untill I turn 18..
How normal is it that I prefer factory work over serving others?

i hear ya. if 18's just around the corner hold on. one thing though, pretty much every job out there, you'll have to deal with people.

Food service is a career field. If it's not to your taste, then it's not to your taste. You can probably find something acceptable as a temporary job until you get the factory job you want. Look around, keep your eyes and ears open.

It's normal. I feel like working at fast food is a step downward, but for some that's all they can get. In the mean time look for a temporary job, like at a bookstore if you can.

    Good Luck!

Spent years in customer service/front desk jobs. Lucky I work in a different industry, otherwise i'd end up in a jail for assualt the next time somebody tells me "customer's always right."

Try drywalling/construction, even cleaning is a fair job.

Stay away from that shit, man.

  • A few people isn't bad but dealing in customer service would make me want to hang myself after the first hour..
