Is it normal not to want a big wedding?

I want to get married on the beach in t-shirts and jeans with one witness. I know there has to be a witness for it to be legal so that's why i'd have someone there, but if it were up to me I'd have no one but a female minister to pronounce us husband and husband. I wouldn't want my parents to come or any of my relatives so we could take a walk on the beach for as long as we wanted, afterwards. Is this normal?

That sounds unbelievably sweet...really chilled out and stuff.
When I got married, it was just some cute little registry office in a quaint little corner of Dublin...it was a kind of rush though, because my boyfriend had just got me pregnant...but I always like small little weddings, I think they're cute. I didn't have any of my family present - my husband had his, but I didn't really care.
When the registrar pronounced us husband and wife, I felt so tingky with excitement, like 'I've done it! I'm married! To a guy whom I love!' So when your minister pronounces you husband and husband, expect to feel happier than ever before!!
Hope you have the best day ever!

Definitely normal. I don't want a big wedding either. Your idea sounds sweet and romantic.
