Is it normal not to tell your spouse you got a speeding ticket?
I just got a renewal notice from our auto insurance company and our premiums went up, which is unusual since we didn't have any accidents or buy a new car or anything. Curious I called them and asked why and they said one of the drivers had gotten a speeding ticket. I asked the lady for details and she said that was all the information that she could see. I assured her that neither myself nor my husband had gotten a ticket but she said that's what it said.
When my husband got home I told him about this and he said "Oh yeah, I did get a ticket." I asked why he didn't tell me he said it happened on the way to work and he forgot about it by the time he got home. I find this very strange. I pressed him for details on when and where it happened. He said he thinks it was in July but it could have been August. He can't even remember the month? Something else bothers me too. I've driven him to work a couple times when his car was in the shop, and the street he claims he got the ticked on is normally bumper to bumper traffic in morning and you couldn't get a ticket if you tried. Overall he just seemed really vague about the whole thing and didn't really want to talk about it. I hate to say it but I'm starting to wonder if he was somewhere else he shouldn't have been when he got the ticket. What do you think?
