Is it normal not to know if the girl wants something serious with you?

Um. If you don't know if she wants this a year later she doesn't. Also there's such a thing as communication, you ask someone this or say what you want/need/feel and then the other person tells you how they feel. You have not done this though so the likelihood that she's put you in the friendzone now after this long is guaranteed.

A couple different ways that you can try. You can try little joking around that includes comments about you and her being together in a year or 2. Or just straight up tell her how you feel about things kind of stagnant and not growing forwrd together. If you feel like you have real feelings for her - just make sure she does not have a more serious somebody in back of her mind. But above all NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS - BE A REAL MAN, TREAT HER WITH THE SAME RESPECT YOU WOULD WANT HER TREATED WITH IF SHE WAS YOUR DAYGHTER. Respect her wishes, thoughts and feelings. A REAL man can and will do that. But for now JUST BE HONEST WITH HER, Dont lie, cheat or take advamtage of someone you care about. Enough said.

After a year, I hate to say but you're in the friend zone. In fact, you're the MAYOR of the friend zone!

I would say talk to her. Always the risk of pushing her away though
