Is it normal not to have any close friends in my wedding?
I do not have anyone whom i can say is my friend. Many people face this issue nowadays. Some take it seriously and try to socialize, others do not care. For me, I would love to have very close friend(s), but even if i don't have any, i don't think i would be depressed about it or care.
However, for weddings it is really important to have friends. I always worry that when i will eventually marry, there would be no one for me in my wedding from friend's category. In my older sister's wedding, she had over 10 very close friends, and the groom's friends were over 40. I always think that for my wedding i will have no friends, just my sisters as bridesmaid, while my hubby-to-be will have a lot of friends, and that will make me look like a "loser". Also, i start thinking that maybe paper marriage would be better for someone like me with no friends, since i wouldn't need to embarrass myself in wedding as the friendless-bride. Is it normal to think like that? If there are others who think about the whole wedding and having no friends problem, let me know ur opinions and thoughts about it.

    All you have to do is make new ones. Do volunteer work with your community or something, it's not that hard. Over a year or so, you could easily have 5 or 6 great friends. I'm sure you'll have some and if you don't, it isn't the end of the world. For one wedding I attended where the bride was in her late thirties, she had no one there for her but family and she was happy and outgoing. I don't think it's all that bad as you make it out to be.

    I too have no friends and the thought of having none at a wedding worried me. I eventually decided that I never want to get married anyway, so the problem sorted itself out.

    But if you do marry, I think at that point some of your husband's friends might be your friends too, would they not? You'd just tell him about your not having any good friends and if it still worries you, he'd let you meet some of his.

    Really seems like a problem that is worrisome in the head, but is trivial in reality. There will be many more things to worry about at a wedding.
