Is it normal not to go to the doctor because i can't afford it?

I lost my insurance last month after losing my job. I really want to see a doctor for help physical and emotional help. But I have no income. I have just enough for food and gas. Even when I had insurance, the doctors and therapist that I found and felt comfortable with (alternative health), they did'nt accept my insurance or there was a super high inital out of pocket fee. This really sucks! when it comes to health care, I really hate this country!

Here in Australia it's free. I've heard stories like yours about people in America, I think it's absolutely appalling as health care is a basic human right no matter what the individuals financial status is.

It's normal, sadly. I wish this country had free healthcare like England or Canada.

When, it comes to alternative medicine they're some things you can do yourself.

Fire Cupping is one. It's best to read up how to do it first or you could see someone. Things like Hijama (wet cupping) and acupuncture, it's best to see a professional. I don't think the paying system is like the healthcare system, but more like paying for an appointment. If you do go somewhere, read up on that place and make sure they're reputable. Also, depending on where you live you might be able to find a Herbalist, I think seeing one would follow the same protocol mentioned above.

    Good Luck:)
