Is it normal not to be attracted to materialistic girls?

When I was in my young teens I always preferred those high maintenance, materialistic, make-up girls that are idolized in the magazines. Now that I am twenty, I don't feel that way anymore, and in fact when I see such a girl I don't feel attracted to her at all, it would be the same as looking at a guy. I feel much more comfortable and attracted to what one would call a "normal" girl that does not overdo it.

I feel that I am alone in this matter, at least in my circle of friends.

It's actually strange you felt that way as a teenager.

Anyways, normal for certain. You care about a girl's personality, and that's a good thing.

You have started to really mature as a man and you are starting to see all that superficial bullshit for what it usually (but not always) is, a smokescreen for an ugly personality, a self-hating personality, a greedy and vain personality or a false construct in place of a non-existant personality. What you call normal girls are just more genuine, have less to cover up or want to cover up, have values that are not skin deep and are often something I think is really awesome, I call it "being nice."

Every one has there preference. You might be surprised tho if you really knew some "high maintenance" girls. You know it said don't judge a book by the cover.
