Some people just have different personalities, like me EG, seriously I am not sympathetic AT ALL!
It is normal not to appreciate everything in life. But that doesn't mean its good.
Appreciation and gratitude are the 2 topmost emotions of enjoying life.
I sometimes find it hard to appreciate things and believe that people "Owe" me. But sometimes I TOTALLY appreciate even when offered a glass of water.
I think that you don't appreciate the things others do for you because they are not your choice.
Do you live with parents at home? Are you unable to live on your own and do everything for yourself?
I feel unappreciative when I am given things that I cannot gain for myself. Not because I don't appreciate, but because I am annoyed that I cannot give them to myself with my own worth. It is two different things.
But try to be thankful anyway, It will get rid of your feeling of unappreciativeness.
I totally understand. It's hard to appreciate things when you didn't even agree to be on this Earth! But, you kind-of have to in order for life to get better for you.
try appreciating just neutral stuff, like the air you breathe, clouds making patterns in the sky, your favourite music, and practising appreciating stuff like that will help with appreciation in general. Do stuff for other's and see if you expect to see signs of their appreciaton. maybe you prefer understated emotions.
depends - do you mean 'everything' or 'some things'? if you don't appreciate 'anything' then that is a problem. if you only appreciate some things i think that's normal.
sometimes people do things for you out of genuine kindness - that should be appreciated. sometimes people do things for you because they want something back from you - in those cases i don't think appreciation is a requirement.
not normal. why don't you try doing everything yourself for a change and see what it's like, then maybe you'd understand.
