Is it normal not having any friends?

I'm a really nice guy and wouldn't think for a second to help out anyone. I'm just really introverted and I don't know how to make friends. I used to sing for a band and had plenty of people in my life during that time, but now it's been years and all I know is my girlfriend and my career. I'm 25 by the way. I guess by normal, I mean frequently occurring obviously. Are you someone or know someone without friends? is it common? or is it really just me.

  • I don't have any friends just 'cause I think most people are dumber than...shit, even shit is smarter than most people in some ways. I used to have friends too but they always used me for money. What I hate is when people tell people like us that we are crazy for not having friends or for being introverted because it's too hard for them to believe we enjoy our own company or just family company.

I personally prefer not to have friends because most people in the area I live in are a waste of time and like to complain about stupid shit like how their cat took a piss on their pillow or something. I guess I'm just cynical. I also hate women (though I am one myself) because they are vindictive and fucking selfish creatures. Lol.

I'm going to get trolled so hard for this.

Either way, no you're not alone and I think it's awesome that you're one of the few out there.

      • Located in Southern Oregon, luckily a few miles outside of a white trash town. I won't say I've had a fucked up life--just fucked up school life/social life. Home life is pleasant because when my door is closed, it means no idiots can come bother me. But besides that, yeah, life sucks BECAUSE of people around us.

Since college i've lost contact with most of my friends, its not been down to arguments though some have moved for uni and for some people it felt as though education was what kept us being friends, without it we just slowly grew apart. Now i'd say I only have one real friend but for the past year he's cared more about weed than me. The only time we ever hang out anymore is if he wants to pick up. (he has anxiety and doesn't want to get in the car). After we pick up we smoke some then I go home. Some social life huh?. But we are young. Plenty of time to change

I can't imagine not having friends, and don't know many people who don't have them either. I find that it takes little effort, it kind of just happens. The only people who I've seen without friends, well, it was pretty understandable to me why they wouldn't have friends. That's only my tiny part of the world, though. But no, I don't thinkit's majorly common.

You mentioned having had people in your life in the past and having a girlfriend, so you don't exactly come across as a person who can't maintain relationships with people, although I obviously wouldn't know. To me, based on the few lines you've put, I've just made the assumption that you aren't really put in many situations where you get to be social. Maybe if you went out to more social places and took part in things, like your band for instance, you'd get into the swing of things.:) I'm not sure what else to say, because I've probably already jumped to conclusions, given that there isn't much to go on.
