Is it normal my teeth hurt all the time?

My teeth were hurting for a long time till I changed my toothpaste. I new I have cavities which was confirmed by a dentist. However when the dentist cleans my teeth I cant feel my teeth for a few hours and they start hurting again. Why is it that I am pain no matter what I do? I do not want to eat anymore because it hurts so bad. I keep changing my toothbrushes and toothpaste but no matter what I am always in pain. The dentist usually make my teeth hurt a lot worse. Should I just start taking pain killer?

    That's what I use for my sensitive teeth. If that doesn't work you might want to visit a tooth hypnotist.

    There's a toothpaste called Sensodyne that people have told me stopped the kind of pain you're describing.
