Is it normal my son said this to his teacher?

My son is lazy and sloppy (like me) but he tends to get out of trouble by charming people. Yesterday he didn't have his homework, I'm sure he did it but it got lost. Anyway his he tells his teacher " I didn't get it done cause I was at a rally demanding higher wages for teachers"! She thought it was funny and let him get away with it. Where does he come up with this stuff.
He also tells waitresses and cashiers they are " doing excellent" and similar ass kissing often gets free desserts. Should I be concerned? He is 8.

You should "tickle torture" him every day he does it until he gets that he is a tiny little ass kisser and this is what he deserves! It won't be easy but i can asure you that it pretty muched worked on my little brother ;)

Absolutely. This one is headed down the road of hard knocks.
Perhaps if you gave him a better role model, he might figure out that charm and wit will only get him so far, but hard work and cleanliness will get him anywhere he wants to go.

The kind of behavior he is showing is a gift. Eventually in his life, he will have to work hard to some extent, but the skills that he has can help him a lot. A lot of really successful people are like that.

You know when you're watching politicians or early videos of celebrities and you see them do or say something so cheesy and you're like "That's some bs right there"... but it works?

The average millennial parent has spoken. It would be better if DSS took your kid at this point.
