He didnt go full term he was a week shy of his due date, but he has thies real distinct ears that me nor his mother have, and hes got a kinda pointed chin... One last thing, im 6"1' 245 pounds, and hecame out 5 pounds 9ozs and hes a real skinnky lil dude... I dont know what to think, is it normal for a child to not take his looks from his mother or father?

dude you just had the kid, less than a week ago, all babies look the same when they are just born. unless there is a reason for you to be suspicious then just enjoy your new baby instead of analysing the poor kid.

True enough. It seems he wants his boy to look like him, which is nice. But yes, wait a bit longer and then you should see similar features.

Don't assume she cheated. Give it time, sometimes they don't develop defining characteristics until they're a little older.

If he turns out looking like your wife's best friends husband... get a DNA test

It's fresh, wait a few months. Handle with care.

I always say that babies don't have faces, it's just squished. It's after a few months you can see what they really look like.

Babies weight is mostly due to their mothers diet and a baby is it's own person, not everything about them has to be from someone related.

Thirdly, the shape of a babies face can be due to their delivery and how they came out. The babies scull is really soft, so be patient.

After a few months you'll know if she cheated, lol (just kidding).

Get a cotton hat on that baby to pin back his ears while the cartilage is still soft!!

You may find that he looks like you / mrs - when you were infants. However, one week is far too young!!

I'd only be concerned if you both have blue eyes and his turn out to be brown, not possible unless ... ;o)

Don't worry, you will see his features very soon - just enjoy him!!

Those features are likely to change over time. The more noticeable features are hair colour and eye colour, these are more identifiable phentotypes. Weight especially when you are a baby is not genetic, that is based upon how he was fed - 5 pounds is quite normal for babies.

You will only start to see facial features stand out more when they get older e.g. a couple of years. Most kids usually get most of their features either from their father or their mother but some will cross over, it's completely random so you can never be sure. Take a photo of yourself, your baby and the mother, and compare them side by side if you want to.

If you are worried then you can always obtain a DNA sample from your child (safely of course) and test with yours to be sure.

The baby is just a few days old, wait a bit.

Unless it's a situation like this:
