Is it normal my skin doesn't hold a tan well

Well whenever I get a tan it's nice and even but doesn't hold long! It stays for about 3-4 days then I'm my normal skin tone again?! Does anyone have this problem too?

  • Tans are actually just light sun burns and you could get skin cancer

I guess your body is more efficient with dispersing melanin.

A tan is skin's reaction to sun exposure. You'd have to be living in a cave not to know that sun damages your skin. "Not holding a tan well" is actually your skin repairing itself quickly from what is, essentially, damage.

You should actually feel kind of good about this, because it means that long after the rest of your sun worshipping buddies' skin has turned into old leather handbags, you'll still look fresh because your skin deals with sun damage better than theirs.
