I mean it's like she feels like she needs my permission to do anything. She's always telling me what she's doing, where's she's going, when she'll be home. She keeps saying things like "if that's okay with you" for things like when she stays out late. I'm not one to stop her from doing that even if I didn't want her to. I can't sleep when she's out late because she texts me to let me know what she's doing. It's kind of annoying but I feel like if I told her she doesn't need to update me every hour she'll feel like I don't care and that's not true either. I just want her to be more independent, that's all.

    1. How old are you, and how old is she?

    2. Do both of you still live with your parents?

    3. Did you grow up with a father?

    I have 3 siblings that live with me. Their dad is in and out of prison all the time, so they pretty much treat me like their father. If she lives alone with you, then it kind of makes sense why she would keep you updated. Unless you both are close in age, then it would be a little annoying to me aswell.
