Is it normal my roommate never cleans the bathroom?
When the semester started I was rooming with my best friend and I was happy. But I'm the only one that cleans the bathroom, she never touched it. She doesn't clean up after herself. She shaves her pubes over the toilet. I know this because she doesn't clean the toilet, I do. Cleaning up after my roomate's pubes is disgusting. She never takes out the trash even on her period! (Lady Law: If you're on your period you change the bathroom trash)
But the last straw was the last few days before break started. I asked her if she would clean and she laughed at that. I wanted to have a more serious discussion with her but she dedicated the day to her selfish girlfriend because they weren't going to see each other for a while. I just told her to remember to throw away her gross shower caddy. The next morning she took her suitcase and left. I woke up to see that everything was still a mess.
There's a checkout process for winter break. You empty your trash. You unplug all your electronics. You throw away your food. You clean the floors. She didn't do any of that. So for the first time in my life I had to go to HER side of the room and clean up after her. I finally emptied the overflowing bathroom trash can, and realized it smelled like old period blood. So I cleaned the trashcan too. And when I went to take a shower I saw a thick layer of GRIME in the shape of her shower caddy. I can't believe she fucking expected me to clean up after her health hazard.
I'm really pissed at her. I think she does this because she's an engineering major. (Or because she sees me as her maid not her friend.) In my school I'm quickly realizing that a lot of engineering majors just don't do housework because "My major is so hard! I feel bad that I don't clean as often but it's ok because I'm an engineer!" But that is BULLSHIT because I'm an engineering major too, I spend more time in the labs than these whiners, still socialize, and I have time to clean up after myself.
