Is it normal my period never regulated?

ok i started my period when i was 10 years old and it just seemed to never stop since i told my mum a few months after that it hadn't stopped stop and she said i needed to wait some time and she told me it would become once a month every month it was just my age

now i am 19 and its still hasn't just became something i get once a month. i have it for about 3 weeks (sometimes longer-the longest i have had it is 3 months straight) and then it stops for at the most 4 day and starts again i haven't ever been to the doctor or anything about it because i always hoped it would just become normal itself.

it is also causing a great strain on my boyfriend and i's relationship can some one please tell me if this is a normal thing and if you have any give me advice on what to do because its starting to drive me crazy

It is not necessarily normal but it is not uncommon either.
Go with charli's advice and see a doctor. If you live in the USA, I would recommend you visit http://www.plannedparenthood.org/

They offer cheap (or free) services depending on the status of your health insurance or income and I have heard that their doctors are very good at what they do. They will give you an exam and they can prescribe something for whatever problems you are having.

I had similar. I got diagnosed with polycystic ovaries. There are other possible causes. Seriously, go see a doctor. I put up with it til my early 20s and now I look back at it and think I was fucking crazy for not doing something earlier.

Not necessarily. Your doctor can tell you about your specific case, if you do have it.
