Is it normal my mother likes being tested?

I have no idea why but my mother seems to like getting tested. If she goes to the doc she will take any test or pill they are willing to give her. She also wants everyone around her to take these tests even when they are unnecessary. Is it insane I don’t believe people should take such tests unless they are necessary?

    If she really believes she's ill it's possible she is a hypochondriac. My sister is one and it makes her incredibly paranoid about all illness and ailments. She worries constantly about getting sick, being sick, believing a dr. would be wrong or miss something. If she's getting tested because she likes the attention or she wants people to believe something is wrong it's possible she has Munchausen Syndrome.
