When I watch anything on tv and there is a gay guy or a lesbian my mom almost always says "eww! Is he (or she) gay?!?!?" and she says it with so much worry in her voice and when we went on vacation she saw a sign that said " gay pride parade today" she freaked out! I think she should just get over it! IIN???

Sounds like you're confused on the definition of "homophobic" as well as your mom's opinion of homosexuality. Just because our society used the term "homophobia" doesn't mean it is used correctly.
It is Perfectly NORMAL to not like the gay and lesbian lifestyle. Talk to your mom about her opinions, AND get a dictionary!!

Yes she is normal and you are not it really is as simple as that , I know its now very common for people to say that they like gays but infact most people find it completly wrong and dirty and perverse which is what it is , Thats not to say all gays are bad people but it does mean its wrong on every level , sure you can pretend its ok and cool ect but it is infact so foul when you really think about it and only in this satanic ruled country would it even be a question you would post , free will plays a huge part and all gays have chosen to go against God and themselves and there is a book which can explaine a lot better than me about why its wrong , THE BIBLE , try reading it , why would you put your poor fammily through such pain , everyone reading this knows im correct , ask yourself why you still lie if this is a free country ,please think about this deep down, its great because its good when it ceases to be good it will cease to be great .

My parents are by every definition of the word "Baby-boomers."
Most folks born in the Baby-boomer generation were witness to a lot of changes in the world in their lifetime.
Most lived through things such as the reconstruction after World War II and the rise of the Iron Curtain and Communism, the Cuban Missile Crisis and then the fall of Communism and the reuniting of Germany.
Many witnessed the Hippie movement and had it impact their lives or home lives.
Many witnessed the Womens' liberation and the disco days of the 1970's, and the Watergate Scandal.
Theirs is a generation which saw lots of changes.
One very big change came in the late '70's to mid 1990's. That was when the gays came out of the closet and began their push for liberation.
In the early 1960's and even in my childhood (in the 1980's) it was still somewhat considered obscene. Phrases like "comin' out" and words like "gay" changed the landscape. and those changes came when the baby-boomers became parents.
When you become a parent, your priorities change and suddenly you care a great deal for the world left to your children. Your ideologies shift to those which engender a life which is good for children. Many Baby-boomers feel that the homosexual lifestyle is obscene and disgusting.
Your parents have a lot of preconceived notions about it. And let's face it, a very loud, proud and overly vocal group, however small it is, is used to define you. It is probably best if you distance yourself from the activists.
It is also best if you just tell your parents matter of fact about it, tell them to ask you questions if they need to, then await for them to ask you. When they do ask you, be truthful and knowledgeable.
And keep your head up.
It is likely your parents will be mad for a while. Know that they will not be mad forever.
I know this seems trivial by comparison; but I will say it.
I know from first hand experience when I told my parents I was a furry. And I saw them react when my sister told them she was gay.
Its normal to not like gay ppl everybody have fears... but being homophobic is wrong. so yea its normal but its wrong
It is perfectly normal though crude.
But just because people dont like a life style dosnt mean they should make rash comment's, if you dislike somthing unless it is somthing like people are being killed or some missjustice where you need to comment and let people know, then it should be kept to your self.
as the saying go'se "if you cant say somthing nice dont say annything at all"
