She claims its his business, but in a nice way. I find that weird because wouldn't you want to share something like that with the love of your life?

Some people just don't like to share that information and some don't want or need to know :-)
My friend doesn't tell his wife how much he earns. I don't think it's any coincidence that he's very stingy with money. Personally, I couldn't imagine keeping it from a girlfriend, never mind a wife.
maybe he's afraid that she'll turn into a gold digger if she knows how much he makes. i'm not saying that she will, i'm just saying that some women do stuff like that. also, maybe if he makes a nice amount of money, maybe she will expect him to do more for her, buy a better house, car etc...
