Is it normal my jaw is swollen possibly from my wisdom teeth?

So totally weird, but I think my wisdom tooth is trying to come in on my bottom left row. It hurts to even swallow. I guess the pressure is being put on my gums when I swallow. It definitely hurts. If i put my tongue up to my gums where the tooth is trying to break through, I can taste blood or something.. : Even worse, my jaw is swollen and is quite tender to touch or if I move my head to the side, I can feel a stretch in the tender spot. I wonder if I just need my wisdom tooth out?

could be stones in your saliva glands even. That causes really bad swelling and all sorts of problems. when I got my wisdom teeth at 16, it caused neck ache down the one side of my neck and a sore jaw, swollen gums etc. I even ended up with an infection at the spot where it was errupting. It can be very painful, but even so, as everyone has advised, get to the dentist. Salt water is great as the first person said, it relieves the pain AND it has an antiseptic effect thereby stopping infection. One thing that also helps, are cloves. Put one on the area where the trouble is and bite down gently on it. It burns like a motherfucker, but it really numbs your gums and also has antiseptic properties.

Incidentally, the only time wisdom teeth are a real problem is when they are impacted. That means they grow along your gums, not out and they push your other teeth forward. The reason I had mine removed at 35 was because they'd grown outward towards my cheeks a little and I kept on biting my cheecks every time I chewed. When they were pulled out it was a typical tooth extraction and they came out easily. I was amazed because I'd expected to leave feeling like I'd been in a car accident. Within two days I was fine, no swelling of the gums or anything. So don't stress overmuch until you know more about what's going on.

Go to the dentist! You could have an infection, possibly a cyst. Your tooth coming in should not be ruining your ability to swallow. Though yes teeth always hurt coming in.

It's hard to know unless you see either a doctor, dentist or both. It might or might not be a problem with wisdom teeth, but you won't know just by guessing and no one can give you any answers unless you get it checked out. I have problems with my two lower wisdom teeth, which are growing into the teeth beside them, sideways instead of upwards. But I'll have to have them removed by an oral surgeon under general anaesthetic, because of the way they're growing. So, your problem might be serious or it might be something easier to treat. But like I say, you have to go and get it checked to find out for certain. Hopefully it won't be too serious, but if it is, you'll at least be in good hands. =o)

My first suggestion is to go to the dentist....

I don't think it's normal for the wisdom teeth to cause your jaw to swell and cause intense pain. It's normal to cause discomfort...and I know what you mean about being able to to taste blood on your gum. Your others will probably start to come in soon, so get to the dentist. The longer you wait to have them out, the more rooted they are and the more the removal sucks.

what you need to do is
take hot water, mix with with salt.
Put some in the mouth and shake, DO NO SWALLOW, just rinse it out.
Take another, rinse, take another. Just keep doing it. This will cool down the pain.

I feel for you man, this is one of the worst pains I hate the most when your gums swells up.

Also I think you are underaged, but I won't judge.
A friend of mine recommended me, Jack Daniels.
You take some in the mouth, shake it to the part your gum swells (swallow or not).Basically what Jack Daniel does is, it makes your gum numb, so you can't feel anything.

But try suggestion number 1 first.
