Is it normal: my girlfriend decides when i go to sleep?

Even if I'm tired and repeatedly ask to go to sleep my girlfriend doesn't let me. Sometimes she'll put sad faces to make me feel bad about going to sleep while she's up or other times she'll talk about something like sex to keep me up. I would just turn my phone off and fall asleep but then she'll break up with me. I really do love my girlfriend (we've been together over two years) i just hate that she does this.

      I agree with you on this one. I went out with a guy who would cry and yell if I tried to end a phone conversation to sleep, even if I'd taken sleeping medication and staying awake was difficult and painful. It was awful. Threatening to break up with somebody if they sleep is abusive.

    Really bro, if you want to go to sleep, go to sleep. If she can't handle the fact that you're human and you get sleepy, she's not worth the effort.

    Your girlfriend sounds needy. It is normal that they do not want you to go asleep. However if they really make you feel that if not they will break up with you that is not normal. However if its just an idea you cooked up in your head you have some security issues.

    I think she just enjoys talking to you SO MUCH that she wants you to stay talking as long as possible. Get into a routine where you just say you're tired, go to sleep at a certain time and she'll understand.

      I agree to this comment, it seems simple but you should not always consider the behavior of your GF (even if it's a bit strange, like in this case) as negative. She probably just wants to spend time with you. No reason to break up with her, just clarify your feelings and it will be fine.

    Let me guess --- she decides when or it you see any of your friends ( that is if she hasn't already made you stop seeing the ones who didn't already walk out of your life after seeing you become such a doormat ) she always decides where and when your going out and maybe even what you'll wear.
