Is it normal my friend told her dad we were going to homecoming?

My friend and I are both bisexual. We’re going to homecoming as friends, but her dad doesn’t want that. He wants her to have a date (a boy) for homecoming. She kept telling him she wanted to go with friends and he said “what friends” she said me and one other close friend. He said “okay... you know what... I’m just gonna say it to get it off my chest... is (my name) gay?” She says “why?” He goes “is she?” She says “yeah, you have a problem with that?” He said no. He then said “are you going to homecoming with her?” And she said “yes”
Pretty much I’m asking if it’s normal for her dad to be so extremely adamant of her going with someone and if she said we were going as more than friends or still friends... also... I don’t think he has any right to ask about me, a completely separate person, outside of their family unit... I may just be crazy though

He's probably afraid that you'll turn her gay with your lesbian ways.

People can ask whatever the hell they want. It's up to the person being questioned whether or not they choose to answer.

Her dad has a right to know every detail about her he can gather, since she is a minor and I assume he is still responsible for her.
