Is it normal my friend is hiding this from people?

I went to visit a friend who I only see from time to time. She's 42 married and has one 3 year old child. I arrive there and her stomach is HUGE. She's not a small girl so I'm puzzling over whether she's pregnant or gained weight.

She catches me looking at her stomach after I hugged her and goes "oh you figured it out." I'm not telling people about my pregnant again unless the figure it out themselves. Then she proceeds to tell me she's almost 7 months pregnant and just popped and she's been hiding it all this time even from her own father who has been staying with her and her hubby for MONTHS... she let HIM figure it out too.

She said if people don't see her she's just not going to tell them until after she gives birth... mind you the baby is healthy thus far. She said she just doesn't feel like telling people and hasn't told most of her own family, who don't live nearby. For the people she see's she's going to make them either ask the rude question are you pregnant (people being afraid to ask because what if she just gained weight). Maybe I'm not, but I think this is NOT normal. Let me know what you think.
