Is it normal my friend changed for the worst?

We used to be great friends. Having a good time with each other and hanging out together (with others). But then several months ago he changed. He went from being a friend to being annoying, arrogant and foolish.

He treats me often with hostility and when he's not he's going out of his way to be annoying (pretending to hand an item to me but dropping it as I reach for it, spreading rumours and untruths etc etc). He has even hit my groin on a few occasions, which hurts a damn lot.

I hate to use this word against him but, basically, he's become an asshole. I don't know why. I don't know what I did, if anything, for him to be this way.

    That's what happens when you get to know people more. For some people it takes a long time to see their true colors, but eventually you find out that everyone sucks.

    With the information at hand it's impossible for me to tell if it's normal, has his life had any changes you are aware of recently?
    And I'm sorry, this sounds similar to a friend I used to have

      I haven't heard of any events that might have affected him. I have no idea why he's acting this way.

        Thanks :) I may be wrong ( wow it must be comforting when advice starts with that haha) but from my experience people don't just change one day, something must trigger it, maybe he needs time to deal with whatever he's going through, if he even is going through anything( wow I've been helpful :/) I hope you find out why he's acting like this and I hope he reverts back to his normal self :)

            However, you have to stand your ground at the same time, desire the fact that he may be going through something there are some lines that friends shouldn't cross, and being hurtful is one of them

    Sry for my poor english.. After reading ur post, i realized what an asshole i was.. I had the situation bfor.. it's juz tat im the asshole and my best friend is u.. For the 1st few months we met, we were like normal friends. Being polite to each other. After that, I kept disturbing or bully him.. I tot he enjoyed it.. I purposely push him sometimes then said sry i did tat on purpose XD He still laughs.. I tot he enjoyed it.. after some time, he became closer to another friend.. I cared abt him, so my thought was he will never be happy with me. So i stopped talking to him and juz let him be with the other friend. Surprisingly, he didnt even talk to me. Then i realized I was the only one who do the talking all these times.. I felt very sad. i used to be a cheerful person but after tat day, i turned into a different person. i don talk much, i don laugh, i fake smile when my classmates were asking whats wrong with me. it was really hard.. One of my classmate were very frustrated to see me in this condition. so the classmate decided to get me and him togethrt again.. too bad it doesnt last long. i kept bullying him. Breaking his pen. Pushing him. i was such an asshole.. Not long after tat, he was close to the other friend agn.. I juz pretend to be the person i was (cheerful) every day at school although it hurt so much for him not talking to me. I cried almost every night. he was the only best friend i ever had. My friends bfor only wants to copy homeworks from me. my friend bfor usually said:"if u don let me copy, i wont be ur frenz anymore" so he means a lot to me as he was the first person not copying his homework. i still care about him although i don talk to him. when he gets allergic, i asked for traditional herbs from a teacher to heal his allergy. i said:" the teacher asked me to give you Im not free to get you one if it's not for the teacher." When he was absent at school, i collect all the homework and passed them to the other friend. Perhaps these wasnt enough for him as i was such an asshole. Im sorry my BFF. Its okay that ure happy with ur other friend. I will get used to pretending everyday. I still cry every night..
