Is it normal my docs don't know what these shocks are?

This is hard to explain, but I've been to doctors, chiropractors, neurologists, etc.

Once in a while, I will get episodes of light "electric shock" sensations through my head, tongue, down my neck and arms, into my fingertips. It is brought on either by just moving my head left or right, OR just moving my eyes. It feels like I've been electrocuted with a very low voltage. The episodes are only a split second, but ALL DAY for up to a month. My doctor was like "IDK what that is, it'll go away in a month, I'm guessing." (YEAH, VERY COMFORTING)
So, as a reaction to the zaps, I become severely anxious and have anxiety attacks, then it goes deeper into my already-present depression. It makes me want to just close my eyes forever. Before, it happened after getting sick for 5 days and losing a lot of weight, which, in turn, made me malnourished and whatnot. It went away in a month, and now, all of a sudden (and, mind you, I'm perfectly healthy now) it's back and seemingly worse.

Other factors (because Google decides to play a role in everyone's decisions): I battle with anti-depressants, but I've gotten the shocks BEFORE even being on ANY. I just recently stopped Effexor because it's causing more harm than good. I stopped that about 2 weeks ago. I don't do drugs. I eat regularly, and take daily walks for at least 30 minutes a day.

Try alternative medicine like acupuncture and and fire cupping/Hijama. Give it a try, they ancients knew what they were doing... I've grown to distrust modern medicine over time. Just because someone has a degree in medicine doesn't mean that their words are law. Some make mistakes and some straight up lie because they don't know what's wrong with you. Medicine is even worse because there are "hidden" dangers in the side-effects. Maybe, even medical weed could help you out.

    • I can definitely see what you mean. All these meds that I've been on for the past year have really fucked me up. I mean, I get sick LITERALLY once every week (this week it's actually from Tuesday, and still going). What is fire cupping/Hijama? I've never heard of that before.
I don't like doctors anymore because they are almost always full of shit.
One time they told me I have costochondritis and it would go away in a week or two...BS! I STILL have this stuff wrong in my chest. GRRSIGH.

I don't know if it is normal or not, but I get the same thing when fatigued. It will cause spasms, in my back, arms, legs, and face, but does not get in the way of me functioning normal, so it doesn't bother me much.

    • All day? Have you ever tried getting it checked out? It's really starting to irritate me. Every time it happens, I just feel like going into a full on seizure, lol.

It is a part of my anxiety, according to my doctors. And it only happens when I am really tired or have had too much caffeine.

        • GAY. Doctors try to tell you that EVERYTHING is related to depression and/or anxiety. So stupid, haha.

    • How would acupuncture help? Nerves? I doubt they'd be able to do anything or even KNOW anything about that where I live. . .

They know a lot about nerves and joints.

        • I'm just saying - no one has ever heard about these shocking things, so I doubt an acupuncturist would know where to stick me. I'd try it out, but the last time I did acupuncture, my hand couldn't move for a few days and it was all swollen and sore! :(

Oh that's a bummer try going to another one and ask them questions and tell them what happened before. Maybe shock therapy might work. It's old fashion but it may work.

    • So does this mean (it keeps coming back for a week or so, then I'd be ok for a week and then it'll come right back) that my body is always tired? I get enough sleep, so wouldn't that mean my body is well rested?
I know it cant kill me, but having a pissed off brain kinda makes ME pissed (well, dUH, your brain is you).
