Is it normal my daughter is scared to shower...

My daughter is scared to shower, as long as the bathroom door is open, will she take a shower, but as soon as I try to shut the door, she tells me she's scared and wants the door open. I'm always right in the next room and have to reassure her that I'm there, it can also be anytime of the day??? I'm very confused, does anyone have any idea.

It's a fear, it's normal but depending on her age she will probably grow out of it

Older sister can't take a shower with the door open. Both her last apartment and current house have closet doors behind the regular door, and she has to be sure both are shut tight. Don't know why.

I must agree because my first thought was scary movies. I was worried about closing the door when showering at once. And it started after watching psycho

Normal. It's from watching too many scary movies. Bad stuff ALWAYS happens in shower scenes.

maybe she is scared that she will slip and fall. have you thought of asking her why she doesnt like the door being closed? is she the same when she has a bath? it could be a separation issue between you and her.

Must b a scary movie she watched, or a scary story she heard. It's definitely normal 4 kids. Talk comforting words, and explain that her fears aren't real. She'll grow out of it. Sounds like a phase.
