Is it normal my dad listens to female song artists?

He's not gay because he's against same-sex marriage, but at least 25% of the songs on his iPod are from female singers such as Kelly Clarkson, Kelly Pickler, Carrie Underwood, and Miranda Lambert. I've never heard of a middle-aged man listen to girl songs. I don't have a problem with it, but is it normal for grown men to listen to these kinds of songs?

What does listening to female singers have to do with being gay?
If anything I feel gayer when I'm enjoying the soothing sound of a beautiful male voice.

The difference is, when I'm listening to a male singer I identify with him. When I'm listening to a female singer I identify with the guy she's singing to.

So I think it's totally normal for a guy to listen to both female and male singers no matter what his sexual orientation might be.

Female vocalist are my personal favorite... but all the ones you listed suck. The question should be, "Is it normal for my dad to have awful taste in music."

Didn't you mean, 'Female voice is (vocalizers are) my personal favorite, but...'?

      Thank you.

No, I don't think it would. Many of Bon Jovi's songs are about love and I don't think it's gay for a guy to listen to him. But it would be gay if a guy is a big fan of Justin Bieber or One Direction.

Yeah normal. I'm a straight guy and I love the song "Girls just wanna have fun." I have been known to start singing it and dancing around like Cyndi Lauper.

Did you read my post? I said I don't have a problem with it. I don't care if my dad listens to female vocalists. All I asked was if it was normal/common.

sorry. guess i missed that. it just kills me when people are judged on something as simple as taste in music. i think its normal to listen to whatever, regardless of age or gender.

Why not use songsters, songstress', songsmiths, songwriters, singers or musical performers, instead?
