Is it normal my dad lets my little brother do girly stuff?

My little bro is 11 and we are pretty sure he is gay. He acts effeminate, plays mostly with girls, and has crushes on boys. He's been this way forever. My dad is so cool with it. He's the "macho" type but he doesn't try to make my brother the same. He used to worry about him wanting to play with dolls or put on makeup but now he doesn't. He lets him do all that girly stuff. He even laughed when my brother put on my mom's high heels. Is it normal? The reason I ask is because a boy at my brother's school has been making fun of him and the teacher blamed by dad for "encouraging abnormal behaviour."

What a terrible father he is, being all supportive and accepting of his child, and not judgemental like you.

I think your dad is great. He is letting your brother be himself.

I know you're just trying to protect your brother from bullying... but you can't change who he is.

But you can be there, and accept him. You can defend him and not feel ashamed. He is your brother after all. Always protect those you love, it doesn't matter how uncool it makes you.

He is damn ELEVEN years old, he isn't even in his puberty.
Secondly, acting effeminate is no sign of being gay.
You should blame the teacher, definitely.
Your dad is good to support his son, even if he is gay (but in this age his sexuality hasn't even developed...)

Your father sounds very accepting of his children. The teacher has no right to judge your brother or your father. Just love your brother for who he is. If your brother isn't hurting anyone or hurting himself just let him be. Who decides what is normal?

Agree with you, he should not encourage it, instead he should guide him.

  • Parents these days don't have any authority anymore. He's just sitting there watching his son turn into a wuss. This whole new generation is fucked. (up the ass)
