My dad always texts me racist jokes lol.And once on new years eve, he sent a video of a really fat chick trying to have sex. Is this normal?
That would make me extremely uncomfortable. It doesn't seem very normal to me, but I'm not you. I find it particularly strange that a dad would send their child a video of someone trying to have sex:S.
Yes it's normal some people do that and forward you really annoying messages that they think are funny when in actual fact it's not. If you don't like these messages just tell him to stop and he probably will. Also I think your dad is a dick (sorry) racist jokes in 2013? come on..

Does he know that it's racist? If not, you should tell him and if you don't like those jokes, then tell him you don't want him sending any more of those racist jokes.
I am kind of starting to believe that all dads are racist. This seems far to common. I guess when you become a dad it just kind of happens. My dad was a huge racist too. So yeah I think it is normal.
Apparently it doesn't bother you to much as you seem to like having the lolz while he says these jokes.

He's trying to connect with you. He thinks that this kind of material is what everyone secretly finds funny so he's secretly sharing it with you, establishing a common thread and trust.
Just tell him to grow up.
Me and my friends make racist jokes all the time, including our own race. Not because we're racist because we like to make fun of the stupid stereotypes people invent. Maybe your dad is similar? But, I do know people who are really sensitive about race, and it's not problem for me to hold my tongue. Maybe you should ask your dad to do the same. It doesn't necessarily mean he's an asshole.
