Is it normal my coworker touches me.....

Is it normal that my male coworker touches me. he does it very sneakily and says its an accident when he does it. like if he is walking past me, he will brush himself against my breast and say it was an accident or if i am bending over a desk, he will walk past me and brush his hand over my bum and say it was an accident. i am married and i know my husband would kick his ass if he found out so i would rather not tell him but i dont appreciate what my coworker is doing. if he didnt apologise and say it was an accident then i would say something straight away but because he says its an accident, i cant accuse him of anything. what do i do?

It's normal (happens a lot in the workplace), but it damn well shouldn't be!

I would tell this jerk where to go. Who cares if he says sorry, it's an accident - it is obviously making you uncomfortable and unless you are working in an extremely confined narrow hallway, it shouldn't be happening THAT often for it to be an accident.

Confront him. Tell him to stop or you'll report him - I don't think he wants to get in crap for sexual harassment. Besides, if he's kept it up this long, it's because he knows he can get away with it because you aren't doing anything about it.

Stand up for yourself. Say something. Don't be another statistic and just take his bullshit. I know you can do it. :)

It does happen very very rarely as an accident, but I think women always know when something is a bit dubious. From what you say, I'd have no doubts this guy is doing it on purpose. The best way to deal with it is either directly (by speaking to him) or by approaching his manager.

Yeah tell him to keep his distance when walking by you. Also, if it happens every time he walks by you or you are bending over then I think it's time to report sexual harassment.

Be upfront. Tell him flat out that these "accidents" are happening a little too often and perhaps he should try paying more attention. If he knows you're on to his perv ways he will hopefully knock it off. By allowing him to continue he thinks he never has to stop and can keep on. It's never a bad idea to inform your boss now so that if something more happens then your boss won't wonder why you never reported it in the past. Plus, people like this perv are likely to turn the tables if they don't get their way and try reporting you. Don't be afraid to stand up for yourself!!

guys ALWAYS pretend its an "accident" so that you feel youll look like an asshole if you say anything. Next time he does it, instead of laughing it off or getting nervous, turn round, look him in the eye and say coldly "Theres been alot of accidents lately". I would not advise reporting it to your boss until you have at least spoken to the guy about it as your boss (if male) is likely to lean on the side of your male coworker.

well you know it's bullshit so at least call that bs. say yeah right, its the tenth time you've done this this week.

actually i would just go and report it to HR and ask for him to be fired when they ask you.

sounds like a douche id say wait till he does it again and yell at him so everyone else hears it and then you can tell a manager and get him fired either that. or file sexual harassment and get him fired as well. Dbags like that disgust me. let your guy do some damage break his fingers then he wont be all touchy feely.

  • Being a guy, i cant see myself ever doing that. But personally, i would much rather have someone stand up to me than have it go on

I woul tell him to stop than if he dosen't listen report him like others said. If you keep letting him do it he might think you like it, or may be attracted to him as you don't try to stop him.
