Is it normal my christmas list is getting boring as i get older

I’m 18 now, and a female, and asking for gifts just seems so boring now. All that’s on my asking list these days is a coat, boots, shoes, car parts, boat parts, and headphones. I’m not too into makeup, and even then receiving makeup and jewelry is so boring compared to when I got dinosaur robots and video games as a kid.

I have the latest phone, and the latest tv, and the latest laptop, so that’s all covered for “big gifts”
My family is generally well off and I’m trying to find something fun to get for Christmas, any ideas? I’m into outdoor stuff and animal stuff, but I already have a boat and I’m full on pets.

What’s something you really wanted as a kid/teen/young adult? It doesn’t have to be expensive, I’d prefer it not be outrageous, just something fun and not clothing or renewing what I already have.

Well I am 18 too and I'm asking for art supplies. I love making art. It doesn't even matter what kind, it's just my hobby. If you have a hobby maybe you could get things based on that?

I agree with donating money to charity as a person that through childhood needed and basically relied on donations for the holidays to give anything or get anything. My main part of Christmas each year was driving to the church a few weeks before and my parents picking up a bag or bin of donated toys from rich people in upstate and them bringing it home while we tried to feel what was inside guessing what would be ours and what would be our cousin's. Then sometime before (on thanksgiving and Christmas) a family drives up to our rundown 200 year old house and says hello and gives us food. I love how unfortunate times cause great memories from people being caring. It's something you might want to consider.

    • I like to enjoy the gifts and luxuries I have now while I am able too :) I’m joining the Peacecorps as soon as I graduate high school and am planning to major in conservation biology, so I am looking forward to being a giver, but for now I’m enjoying the joys of getting
While I choose to follow a path of action and volunteering rather than wealth in the future, I will enjoy the luxuries that money, and a little bit of self interest, can offer in my present. Thank you.

That's respectable. I live that people think about things like this!

A puppy! I would course have to have my folks take me to look for the puppy with them, because it's best if I get to choose, or rather the puppy chooses me. My cat and I would love a friendly, gentle, smart, cuddly puppy! We would like a Shetland sheepdog. Andrew also really likes Poodles.

I love puppies! I've raised 3 in my lifetime. A German Shepard, then a mixed terrier, medium size, and finally a West highland terrier who was the runt of the pack. He only grew to 3 lbs, we were the best of friends. It broke my heart when I had to have the tiny guy put to sleep. :(

In the course of my life so far I've had about six dogs, but I haven't had a pooch of my own since 2001.
        :-'(

Thank God for dog-like, doting, affectionate, demanding, brainy Siamese cats! Still I think my cat and I both would love to have a doggie dog, but my poor cat is getting old, he will be eleven in February.

Puppies are like angel poop from heaven, but so are kittens.
