Is it normal my brother told me i'm beautiful?

i had things to do but i didn't want to go out because i was feeling ugly and couldn't get myself to look right. i told my brother i felt like i didn't look good and he puts his hands on my shoulders and looks at me so i know he's really serious, then he says i'm the most beautiful person he's ever seen and that anyone who said i wasn't absolutely lovely was lying. he hugged me then said i should never feel ugly because i make everyone else look ugly in comparison. it did make me feel better, but is it normal for him to say that?

    I'm a guy, and I tell my sister she's beautiful. Why would it not be normal?

    I'd rather for her to hear me say it than a douche bag who just wants to get in her pants.

    That's so cute it just means your brother really loves you and i think it's perfectly fine that he thinks your beautiful because your his sister.... Thats called love....appreciate it :)

    That is very sweet and totally normal. Don't feel awkward about your brother just wanting you to feel good about yourself. You're lucky to have such a caring brother.

    Lol, I'm very awkward around my own brother and if he ever said something like that to me i might beat him with the closest thing i find (Though I get paranoid with basically any other man regardless of relation) I would say it's quite sweet, i mean it definitely doesnt mean anything, It is The westerMarck effect afterall... You did grow up with him right? lol ignore im sure it means nothing apart from trying to tell you you are a beautiful person.

    it also means hes gonna be or already is protective of you, but I mean why shouldnt brothers be protective? Its our job
