Me and my boyfriend were talking the other day and he told me he wants to get me a collar type necklace and put his initials on it. He says its to tell others "I'm his" should I let him get me one?
That sounds like something a controlling person would want.. The other comments also say that you don't really want to do that. It would feel weird wound't it? Ugh, don't wear something like that. If he wants people to know you're his he can put a ring on it, you know?
Please know what you are getting into before you say yes. While I tend to like this type of thing you dont seem to have any idea what it is. So dont say yes right away.
If you're asking you probably don't really want to, so don't. I've seen couples with each other's name tarts, and it's kind of cut, but also kind of co-dependent.
I dunno, the last time I had to wear a collar like that, Clank was forced to be my voice guide and I had to fight all kinds of deadly gladiator style sports by force. If I didn't, the collar on my neck would explode so I had no choice. I don't think you'd like such a controlling thing to happen to you so, like others said, you have a ring finger for that kind of thing.
I knew a girl that did similar with her boyfriend but she was really into that kind of relationship. Might of been her that suggested it actually.
However because it sounds like you're not into that kind of d/s relationship, it seems weird to me. Even a bit creepy for him to ask.
He sounds like he's into BDSM. However if done properly, he would be asking for your consent and not try to force this on you.

I'd say it would be pretty arousing to me having my girl wearing a collar and doggy ears while foreplay and making love but outside on the streets it's embarrassing for both of you =P
He's just concerned that when he leaves you outside the grocery store you'll run away.
I actually think it's an interesting idea, but it might look odd or feel uncomfortable.
I'd be thrilled if a girl would be willing to do that for me, but I think it'd be too unusual for me to let her go through with it.
Maybe suggest a slightly less odd alternative, like a bracelet.

This sounds really kinky. Look into the S&M lifestyle. It looks like he wants to make you what they call a "Pet" saying you are "His" means he owns you. So in a way you would be kind of like his dog. By saying alright you are agreeing to be so. However not sure if you want to be in this lifestyle. Some people enjoy this type of relationship and others dont. I have known people in this type of arrangement and they are very happy with it. I think its very underhanded for him to push you into something you dont seem to have a full understanding of however.
If you feel ok about it, then fine. But the very fact you're asking is it normal says to me that you aren't comfortable with it, in which case, say no. No one owns anyone else. If its to enhance your sex life and he only wants you to wear it in the bedroom, then that could be ok, but wearing something to signify you are someone else's property.... Do you really want to agree to that?
