Is it normal my boyfriend says these things to me and makes me upset?

okay so basically i've been with my boyfriend for 7 months now. he is sweet and all but i feel like things he say sometimes are out of order to say to your girlfriend. for example, he braught me a pair of earings and neckalace, and ive braught him gifts before aswell, and then he goes ''do you think we would buy gifts for eachother when we are older'' and then i go, yes, i still would... and then he goes ''i dont think we would, because like we would be living with eachother'' then i go ''yeah but still'' then he goes actually i would to make you happy, but the fact he said that in the first place!! Also i am going off to university next year so we agreed we would help eachother with a personal statement, and then without even asking me weather i need any help he will just be like 'yes im sending mine off tomorrow!' it really hurts my feelings, because i feel like this is really bringing me down, please help me and tell me what to do! and is this normal for a guy to act in this way? or am i with the wrong guy?
