My boyfriend is really jealous and whenever he thinks I'm cheating on him or have "another boyfriend" (because of him finding his own hickies on my neck or something really stupid) he shoves me off of him or pushes me semi forcefully. Sometimes he'll kick me off the bed or shove me off the bed too. He does it a lot. I know it's somewhat playful but at the same time I know he's actually mad. I never thought anything of it until I told my sister and she told me it's a huge red flag, he does other things too like messing up my hair obnoxiously.

    That's not normal at all. Tell him to knock it off and that you're not cheating. If he can't respect that wish, leave him. Your sister is right.

    I agree with the other posters who say this is not normal, not good, and not something you should tolerate.

    So far, the violence it's fairly low-key, but you're in an abusive relationship. Guys who behave like he does tend to escalate over time, so ask yourself how violent he needs to get before you leave.

    He either cheating on you or he probably want you to break up with him because he doesn't have to feel guilty for it so he doing things easyer on himself for you to break up with him.or if i was you honey answer this if you need advice from other people do what makes you happy. So the real answer is are you happy and where do you see yourself in life 5 years from now and if he putting his hands on you dear maybe its not worth fighting for that relationship the world big or maybe you should write a list about good and bad about him if your unsure and unhappy just saying...

    I actually disagree with everybody. I could totally see these things happening playfully as you said.

    Of course the first step is tell him that you don't want that to happen any more, which should surprise him as I assume he assumes you are OK with it, or see it as mildly annoying/funny otherwise he wouldn't be doing it.

    And I could definitely see the severity of this getting miscommunicated and interpretes as worse, especially by a sibling of all people, who will want to protect you and be skeptical of any partner even one who doesn't do this.

    If he doesn't listen when you tell him to stop and you've made it clear it really bothers you then that needs to be addressed.
