Is it normal my best friend gets mad at his girlfriend speaking to me?

Ok. Not too sure what to think here, she was speaking to me the other day, and he said, "He's my friend, go get your own" So she had to go. Then today, she was talking to me again, and she said he had a big issue with that.

Is this normal? I mean, I wouldn't do anything with her, I just wanted to get to know her better because most of my friends girlfriends hate me, because my friends ignore their girlfriends and talk to me instead. We have quite a lot in common too, so i would think we could be friends, then she will let my best friend actually spend time with me.

I think its a trust issue but not with me. He would die for me, anytime. I would do the same for him, we have been best friends for ages, to the point when people would say at parties "So, when is John and Tim getting here?" (Not our actual names, but you know, anonymousness) I think he doesn't trust her, with me, but trusts me with her sort of thing.

Anyway, yeah, is this normal? Cheers.

Maybe it's fear of losing both his best friend and girlfriend to each other. It doesn't exactly seem rational but the two relationships are pretty emotional and emotions make people do crazy things.
