Is it normal mum wants me to live with her

I've been living with my dad for thirteen years now but I still see mu mum on the weekends sometimes but everytime I go there she asks me to live with her.

I'll admit I don't get along with my dad but my mum always makes big drama, for example if it's the end of the week and there's not much food she will say that my dad is starving me and using the money he gets from the government (the gov pays him money for me and my sis) to buy things for himself.

She also drinks alot and when she does she sends my dad mean text messages and sometimes says she will call the police on him.

My mum said that my dad was suppose to give me back to her when I was younger but my mum told me my dad refused because he didn't want to get a job. I don't know if it's true or not.

She also says if I live wuth her she will get me everything I want, when I told her no she then said she will get the court involved and tell them that my dad beats me up and rapes me (he doesn't) if I don't live with her. I told her she can't force me to live with her because I'm 17, but she said she could. After a argument she then said that she was just testing me to see what I would do and she was lying.

My mum also says I should live with her because shes my mum and she needs someone to help her out bc right now shes living in a small apartment near the bush and she wants me to live with her so then with my money she can get a better house to live in.

I've asked her why she couldn't go get a job to earn extra money to move out, (she gets money from the gov) but she always uses her sore back as an excuse. I've told her there are jobs online and I even offered to teach her about computers/websites so she can get a job but she says she isn't interested.

My mum also has mood swings and can get angry and say mean things, idk if I should live with her or not. I want to help her but I don't want to be abused by her.

Also quick question to people who are working does anyone know any good places to start a job I graduated last year and currently getting money from gov because I need to help my dad pay rent and stuff it can't be anywhere with lots of people (like serving customers or in front of large crowds) because I have severe anxiety (sorry) I'm good with computers/coding/writing/art/anmating/ and animals. My parents never had a job so they don't rlly have any advice for me but I don't want to live on gov money forever like them because I want a nice house and lots games.

i wish living with someone was a fun and happy experience like on sitcoms, but from my time at my aunts house last summer i can tell you people resent the hell out of their guests and judge their every action hatefully. it's not even in a funny way like on fresh prince where theres SOME good intention behind the rage. it's like "this is my house i paid for and work 16 hour days for you to jack off and get high and drunk and lay in my bed????" idk lol people need to be more christ like and care for others.

As for job advice you can always go online at like monster.com and see jobs in your area. It might be a tad bit hard on some of them since you have to have certain qualifications really. But you might want to look into something if you're into working from home and doing something with computers and coding etc.

I'd advise don't move in with her. Your mother also sounds like mine. Toxic, like a disease really.

Where is this place where everyone can live off the government?

    • Australia, my dad is on carers pension and the government pays him to care for my sister (he used to get money for me too but I finished school) and my mum is on disability pension for her back

Do you have to be a citizen to get the money or can I just show up?

        • Idk, you probably have to be a citizen. They don't give out much anyway, my mum is barely getting by and all she can afford is a small apartment in the middle of nowhere, she doesn't even have that much money for internet/electricity.

Refugees and Aboriginals get paid alot here though and get given lots of free stuff :/

The people that lived there first get paid more? That doesn't sound fair.

            • Well I guess it is okay, I don't mind the Aboriginals getting benefits because of what the government did to them (kidnapping there children and giving them to white families where they force the children to forget about their whole culture)

I just find it odd that the government pays more money to healthy aboriginals without a job while they hardly give anything to disabled people who are literally unable to work at all.

I'm not saying that the natives of the land shouldn't be helped, they were here first after all, but disabled people should get a chance as well, as technically they need more help from the government.

Lets say the government pays an able bodied, healthy aboriginal $500 a fortnight, while a wheelchair person with no legs gets paid $250 a fortnight. Do you think that's fair?
