Is it normal mom's always the one sleeping on the couch?

My mom has decided to permanently move into another room, and I now know my dad will never, ever give up sleeping in 'his' bed, even when he's wrong.

As a kid, I always saw the dads on TV being kicked out after fights. A few years ago, I realized it has never been like that in this in this house. It's always my mom. IIN?

BQ: Do you think it just comes down to who is more 'dominant', stubborn, or controlling?

    Ok maybe she kicked herself out. It doesnt mean he is dominant just that she doesnt want to be in bed with him.
    These days sadly its all too common.

    Eh, maybe your Mom just does not want to deal with him.

    My aunt has been sleeping on the couch for years because she just doesn't like her husband unless he is buying her stuff or totally kissing her ass. He has done everything to try to get her back sleeping in the bedroom but she just doesn't like him enough to trek all the way up some stairs. Doubtful your parents are at odds for the same reasons, though.

    Chances are, your Mom just doesn't want to deal with your Dad. It's easier to just remove yourself from a situation than to remove the other person.

    It can go either way. When you are angry you can either kick out your partner, or remove yourself from the situation. I don't think it's always a dominance thing.

    I do not think anyone should keep the room personally. I know this never happened in my family even when they did fight. However I know it went down to who actually was paying for the house. When my mom payed it was my dad and when my dad payed my mom left to another room. We also moved a few times.

    My mom was like that too.. I also saw on tv that the moms would keep the house in a divorce and the dad was thrown out, also not the case here my mom left the house when they seperated
    But my mom was definitely the more dominant stubborn controlling type I think
