Is it normal manager lets me leave early?

Basically my manager let me go early because I was having a pretty poo day. My stern and up my a** supervisor went home and the director doesn't know, neither do my workmates is that ok? My manager favours me above everyone else and sees me as a friend, I often go round his house. We don't leave on a time sheet or whatever either
