People like me - who always pity themselves - are really thankful for people like you. You're awesome.

WOW!! You are the first person I've known to admit that! I really hate the 'poor me' attitude of so many people. I've had so many health problems which have left me unable to walk for long periods of my life and have never once pitied myself.

My cousin once asked, "Do you not just think every day, why me?"
"No!! Why not me? Better me than some single parent with 6 kids!"

I thought that the strangest question I'd ever heard. I do enjoy listening to other people and helping them but sometimes I just wish they'd grow a spine and deal with things!

Not everyone can be strong willed enough to deal with things. It's sad, but true.
Though, I have helped a few of my friends who just wanted pity realize that the world doesn't revolve around them. All it takes is someone willing to listen and give a positive point of view. People like you. Feel special! You have the attitude that can help people be happy and the attitude that will always allow you to be happy! :)

I'm not always happy but I don't think happiness is the opposite of self-pity. I don't know where self pity even comes from! Maybe it's just that we never got any sympathy when we were sick from our parents, I don't know but it's just not a thought that ever enters my head.

Wana laf? I had to get some stitches out recently and had an appointment at the doctors. I rang up to cancel it and they asked me why. I told them, "It's ok, I got my husband to take them out for me so as not to waste your time." The nurse was in stitches laughing. I didn't even know why until my friend explained.
I hate any fuss over me, and never waste time at the doctors.

People who pity themselves are usually unhappy from what I've seen. It could be the fact that they didn't get attention when they were younger and just want someone to notice them, you're right.

Well that's silly but I'd probably do the same thing. Haha.

No NothingCrazy I have no self-pity coz I never got any sympathy so never learned to feel that emotion. My cousin who asked me, was asthmatic as a child and always fussed over and she always feels sorry for herself and can't talk about herself enough. She is never away from the doctor and hospital - so much so, that the local hospital told her to go home it was psyhosomatic. She rang to ask me what that meant :o) She always turned up on the first day of her children's school holidays to treat the hospital like a hotel.

  • Yeah its normal. I do this all the time. Whenever people say 'Ohh its a long story..' I'll go:
'Ohh it doesn't matter...please tell me anyway. I got time.'

I don't know why I do that but I have a habit of it.

  • I do this to. Except I like when people tell me whats wrong because it makes me seem like a caring person. Also sharing your emotions with someone really builds a bridge and destroys walls. Lastly, I do it because I like being the hero. I own a sad disposition when I fail in my attempt to be the hero.
