  • It is easier to make friends online than in the real world. Online their aren't any expectations or stereotypes that will apply to you since no looks are involved. Thus, personality reigns supreme and you can actually think about what you'll say before you type it. If you're content with your online friends, that's fine. However, you do need social skills to live in the real world. Go out more often and try to interact more with the people of the real world. Or try to meet up with your online friends.

I think it's a hell of a lot easier to make friends online. Im pretty shy and it requires a lot of courage for me to talk to someone new in person, whereas I am a lot more comfortable behind a screen haha. I think that it does have something to do with the fact that looks are completely out of the question lol

Well, that's normal though, many people are braver online than in real world :)

I'm a people person, I will walk up to anyone and strike up a conversation. I may not have faith in my looks but I have enough confidence in my personality to know I can win that person over and, more then likely, they will actually like me.
Online I am a lot more polite, I am less cheeky as I am unable to judge whether I'm upsetting people. Also I find, as I'm English, that people struggle to understand my sarcasm and the irony in what I say so I really try to not be sarcastic where is in real life sarcasm is leaked into every other sentence I say.
One thing I definitely prefer online though is no one can judge on aesthetics which is lovely. people seem more open and comfortable too.
It's obviously a confidence thing, but as long as you're happy in your life (online and real life) then I wouldn't worry about it =)
