I'm 24 years old and I'm gay. I'm a very bitter and miserable human being and I absolutely can't stand when people in the LGBTQA+ community are happy. We get treated like shit, our parents always hate us, we just now got rights, we are discriminated against constantly and now our president fucking hates us.

Yet this guy from my college thinks everything is just great? He's so fucking happy all the time, smiling and laughing. He didn't even come out he just started dating guys, he says being gay isn't important or special and that he's "just generally happy about life" and it's so annoying. When people say homophobic shit he just shrugs it off, he's been with his beefy boyfriend for 3 fucking years. I just prowl Grindr then get cheated on.

It pisses me off and I know it shouldn't but being gay is a huge deal and he just acts like it's nothing. He doesn't go to pride, doesn't go to marches or protests, he isn't doing anything for the LGBTQA+ community. He didn't even know what trans was until I told him and he just said "Ohhhhh okay" Okay???? It's not okay???? It's a huge deal he has no idea what trans people go through and he says okay???

When you're gay you have a duty to stick up for your fellow LGBTQA+ And he doesn't do shit but say he doesn't care about homophobes or transphobic people. He says he's never experienced discrimination, probably because he's basically hiding being gay. I hate him.

tl;dr - I hate gay guys who are always happy and nice to everybody and don't do anything for the LGBTQA+ community

    Wow, you are really a grumpy person. My husband always says happiness comes from inside and stuff like that. Anyways, for you I think he is right. You need to work on yourself to find joy in little things or you will never really be happy.

    Just because he's gay does not mean he has any obligation to you or anyone else who's gay. Being hateful and jealous over people living life isn't going to get you anywhere.
